First, the Pronghorns would like to begin by thanking Chris Belan and Richard Beswitherick for their outstanding hard work and dedication over the last years. They each had key contributions to the teams they coached and many of us would not be the same player without their mentorship. Next, we are very excited and proud to welcome Carrie Williams and Gord Cox to our coaching staff! Carrie has coached at the U19AA level and brings a wealth of knowledge, great ideas, and irreplaceable experience. Gord has coached at the U19A level and is the president of the Lethbridge Ringette Association. He brings an extraordinary amount of passion with his experience. Both of them will be great assets to the team and we are delighted to have them. Please join us in giving them a warm welcome!

Pronghorns Ringette is comprised of players attending both the University of Lethbridge, as well as Lethbridge Polytechnic, formerly known as Lethbridge College. The Pronghorns play in the Calgary Open Ringette Association (CORA) league in the Open A division. We get the opportunity to play in the University Challenge Cup (UCC’s) which is the National Championships for University teams, as well as the chance to earn a spot competing in the Provincial Championships. The team participates in 2 practices a week, along with 2 dryland training sessions led by a high performance trainer, with games typically taking place in a double header format on weekends. Our program is one of the best in Canada, achieving a top 3 finish in UCC’s the past several years! We strive to excellence while encouraging a continued love for the sport as well a the development of important friendships through your University years!
“My ultimate goals are to make it to the University ringette team, work on my shot so it’s really hard, to be better defence and center, and to win the race to the ring every time.”

Every August, the Pronghorns put on a 5 day camp for athletes U10-U14, where they work on skills, strategies, game play and review videos. When they aren't on the ice, they do dryland training, play games and talk about nutrition. The Horns also put on a 3 day camp for U16 and U19 athletes where they target conditioning, skills, strategies and game play. Following on ice drills, they athletes head off to do an hour of dryland where they work on foot speed and conditioning.

“The camp was fun and the instructors are so nice. They taught me how to stop and how to shoot harder. I had a lot of fun doing dryland. It was exhausting but I learned a lot and got to be there with my friends.” - U10 camper
“This is one of the best ringette camps I've been to. I've met lots of people and learned a lot. It's fun and hard work but I loved it.” -U12 athlete
"I’ve been attending the Pronghorns ringette camp for years, and each time, I come away with new insights and skills. The on-ice sessions effectively maximize our time by integrating multiple skills into drills, focusing on positioning, edge work, and strategy. Off the ice, we hone skills that directly translate to on-ice performance. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to try out for the Pronghorns, this program offers a fantastic opportunity to develop and learn from a team of talented coaches and athletes".

“During my time as Pronghorn, I not only developed my skills on the ice but created lasting relationships that greatly impacted my university experience. The dry land training, games and tournaments pushed me to develop my athletic abilities, while also fostering teamwork and time management. Beyond the physical fitness, the camaraderie we built as teammates taught me the value of collaboration, support and friendship. Together, we celebrated victories and navigated challenges that helped create bonds that extended beyond the rink. This experience shaped my character, instilled a strong work ethic and left me with cherished memories that will last a lifetime!”
“Being a Pronghorn shaped my time in university. It created a tight-knit crew that felt like family. The laughs, late-night study sessions, and shared victories made my time unforgettable!”
